Hello All & Happy Wednesday!
Coldwell Banker has been promoting recently that you can now get a mobile version of the www.ColdwellBanker.com site on your iPhone and BlackBerry. I LOVE THIS!!!
However, I wish they would mention that you can also get this on ANY internet-enabled phone ... say for example the Palm Centro that Coldwell Banker gave away at their International Business Conference last year.
To access the mobile version on your device that is not an iPhone or BlackBerry ... simply pop onto the internet and type "m.coldwellbanker.com". Search for properties, open houses and agents right from your phone!
So what is a mobile version? Simply stated, it is a scaled down version of the main site, in this case, the corporate Coldwell Banker site. A mobile version of a website is made for the smaller screens on our devices, they will not have all of the functionality of the main site, but you will have access to some of the major features. Most of the time, if you type in the original www site url you will be redirected to the mobile version, but this is not always the case.
Many of your favorite websites have mobile versions of their own sites, for example:
www.cnn.com >>> m.cnn.com
www.npr.org >>> m.npr.org
Some will have "wap.sitename.com" instead of the "m". WAP stands for Wireless Application Protocol - yet another open source platform (you know how I love open source anything)!
So ... even though CB is saying iPhones and BlackBerry's - we know - we all have access to the new mobile version of coldwellbanker.com as long as we can get online on our phones!
GO PHILS!!!

Social Media Mishaps - No, Dad, I Didn’t Sell My House…
Hello all & Happy Thursday:
I loved this post on the BH&G blog today - see below for the link. It made me think about all of the times I have linked a blog post to my Facebook account ...
I want you to embrace social networking to the fullest, but you still have to call mom every so often.

Are You Sure You Want To Send That???
Happy Tuesday! Wow - so excited to read on the Official Gmail Blog today about a new tool that Google is developing called Mail Goggles.
Here is how it works ... you are typing that late night email after a long and hectic day and you click "send". When you have Mail Goggles enabled, Google will ask you to solve some simple math problems ... the idea being that if you are in your right mind, you will be able to solve problems and therefore your email is probably not a random late night thoughtless rant. If you can't solve the math, your email won't send.
Granted this will not always save you from sending out emails that you should not send in the first place. Not to mention the math-phobics out there that will get nutty at even the simplest of math problems ...
Mail Goggles are still in development from Google ... check out the blog post I am referring to here.
